Know Before You Spend
Every repair we do starts with an inspection, because guessing about chimneys is expensive — for you. A proper inspection tells you what's actually wrong, what can wait, and what's urgent. It also tells you what you don't need, which matters just as much. We'd rather inspect your chimney and tell you it's fine than sell you work it doesn't need.
Level 1: The Standard Check
A Level 1 inspection covers what's readily accessible: the exterior brick and mortar, the crown, the cap, the flashing, the firebox, the damper, and the visible flue. We check for the common failure points — deteriorated mortar, crown cracks, flashing issues, firebox damage — and give you a written summary with photos. This is the right inspection for an annual checkup or when you're noticing a specific problem.
Level 2: The Deep Look
A Level 2 inspection adds a camera run through the full flue length plus inspection of attics, crawlspaces, and other accessible areas around the chimney. You see the footage — every crack, every missing tile, every gap. Level 2 is what's called for when:
- You're buying or selling a home (most inspectors and insurers want this level).
- There's been a chimney fire, even a small one.
- You're changing the appliance — new stove, new insert, fuel switch.
- Something's wrong and the Level 1 didn't explain it — persistent leaks, draft problems, smoke issues.
What You Get
Written findings with photos (and video for Level 2), prioritized by urgency: what needs attention now, what to watch, and what's fine. If repairs are needed, the inspection fee applies toward the work — we'd rather you spend the money on the fix than on the diagnosis twice.
Send the form — tell us why you want the inspection (sale, problem, annual check) and we'll recommend the right level.
